Welcome
Welcome to the Tasmania Branch of IPSHA
Thirteen members representing schools from both the north and south of the State make up the current membership. This includes both Primary and Middle School Heads and all are part of K-12 schools. Both coeducational and single sex schools are represented.
The Branch meets each term (3 terms per year), alternating between Hobart and Launceston. Meetings include a professional learning topic or issue, together with an opportunity for sharing learning and leadership practices and for general collegiality.
A biennial professional learning mini-conference is held for Heads and Deputy Heads. In alternate years, members are invited to participate in the Victoria-South Australia professional learning retreat.
Student activities across schools are arranged each year. The student leadership day and the winter sports carnival are regular events, but other cultural and social activities are often scheduled.
The branch is keen to welcome new members from non-government schools around the State and prospective members are encouraged to contact a current member in their region.
